Along with her romantic anniversary message, Aduba, 42, posted photos from the couple’straditional Nigerian wedding ceremonyin which the bride wore a red gown embellished with metallic thread and gems.

The actress, who was born in Boston to parents from Nigeria,first announced her marriageto the filmmaker in 2021, one year after they secretly tied the knot in New York, via anInstagrampost featuring a photo of her and Sweeting on their wedding day and a quote from the hit 1989 rom-comWhen Harry Met Sally.

A source also confirmed the news to PEOPLE at the time, revealing that the couple wed during an intimate ceremony in New York.

Although the couple tends to keep their relationship out of the public eye, they occasionally share sweet posts about each other on social media and step out in support of each other at events.

“The happy couple is over the moon about their growing family and are excited to be parents,” an insider shared with PEOPLE at the time.
