The 30-year-old singer-songwriter was hospitalized for blood clots in July after reportedly collapsing at a dinner with friends in Los Angeles, and she opened up about the experience during herTake Control Tourstop at Bowery Ballroom in New York City on Monday.
“I’m so, so grateful to be here and be back,” Kelly told fans from the stage. “It was a crazy, crazy experience.”

She spoke about what got her through the difficult experience: “If there’s one thing that I knew and that I held on to the whole time is that God was with me — and y’all were with me. I felt the love.”
In July,TMZ reportedthat Kelly spent more than a week at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. After she was discharged, the “Nobody Love” musician shared a note with her fans on social media.
“Hi friends … as you may have heard, I’m dealing with some unexpected health challenges,” she began. “it’s been a scary few days but i can feel your prayers & can’t stop thinking about you.”
Confirming her condition had improved, Kelly continued, “I’m feeling stronger now & hopeful but unfortunately there are still some things to uncover.”
“I’m so grateful for the amazing doctors & nurses who have been looking after me,” she said.
This week, Kelly — who recently released a new EP calledTori— spoke further about the health scare in an interview withThe New York Post, noting that she was “overwhelmed” with support from fans.

She also said the experience has inspired her to make some life changes. “It definitely makes me want to live in the moment more and just cherish every little thing and keep my people close,” declared Kelly.
Ahead of her ongoing tour, she predicted to thePostthat she’d be “an emotional mess on stage because with everything that’s gone on.”
Kelly continued, “I’m just going to be like, ‘Oh my God, I love you guys.’ I know I will be so grateful to be up there on that stage. It’s a whole bunch of emotions and the overall feeling is just one of feeling really grateful.”
