And while Meri explained that she, too, is looking forward to spending more time with her friend — and having all of her work in the same place — she doesn’t want Kody to feel as though she wants nothing to do with him.
“I’d like my relationship with Kody to get to a place where we have, like, a good marriage relationship, but that’s not where it is right now,” she explained. “And I feel like when I tell him I’m going to be moving my business up to the B&B, he’s going to interpret that as that I am done with this relationship. And that’s not where I am.”

Despite their legal divorce in 2014, Kody and Meri decided to remain“spiritually married” until they announced their official split in January. Kody also separated from his third wife,Christine Brown, in 2021 and his second wife,Janelle Brown, in 2022.
Earlier this month, Merishared on Instagramthat she iswelcoming happiness back into her life, post-split. “Bring on the joy, bring on the fun, bring on the success! Happiness feels good!” she captioned the post, adding “#WorthyUp” and “#GreatnessBeginsToday.”
Meri spoke further about her path forwardin an interview with PEOPLE in August, saying “things are good” between her blossoming friendships and her successful business.
She also noted, at the time, that a large reason her relationship with Kody ended was due to jealousy. “Anytime that you expand your family, there’s going to be a shift,” Meri told PEOPLE. “You’ve got just the logistical things, but then you’ve also got the emotional things. I’m human. I’m going to get jealous. He’s human. He is going to not know how to deal with a woman’s jealousy.”
