Kenya wildlife functionary have confirmed the dying of the nation ’s only female all - white Giraffa camelopardalis and her equally uncommon calfskin .

In astatementshared on Twitter , preservation organizationIshaqbini Hirola Conservancydescribed look-alike of the giraffe in a “ skeletal province ” after she was reportedly killed by armed poachers . The calf was deport last August and made up the third in a triad of white giraffes . Now , just the bull remains .

“ This is a very sad twenty-four hour period for the community of Ijara and Kenya as a whole . We are the only community in the humanity who are custodians to the white giraffe . Its violent death is a setback to tremendous steps look at by the residential area to conserve rare and unique species and a wakeup call for continued support to preservation efforts , ” said Mohammed Ahmednoor , manager of Ishaqbini Hirola Conservancy based in Garissa County , where   the giraffe were located .
