Get ready tostep back into the Arconia, becauseOnly Murders in the Buildingseason 3 has officially commenced.
In the new season,Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin reprise their roles aseveryone’s favorite true-crime-solving trio, and several other big names join the cast this time around.
As teased inthe season 2 finale, Paul Rudd joinsthe cast as Broadway star Ben Glenroy— and many other stars were announced since asthe cast shared behind-the-scenes looksfrom the set.

Gomez, Short, and Martin reprise their roles as Mabel Mora, Oliver Putnam and Charles Haden-Savage, respectively. In an Instagram video from set, Gomez also revealed that Andrea Martin would be reprising her role as Joy, Charles' makeup artist and love interest.

After making a cameo in the season 2 finale,Rudd officially joins the cast as Ben Glenroy in season 3.
Series co-creator and executive producer John Hoffman told PEOPLE the actor’s role “was a true bit of dream casting for us” and added, “as those who know our show know well, many twists await regarding the story of ‘Ben Glenroy’ in our season 3.”
Additionally, it was announced thatGrey’s AnatomyalumJesse Williams will have a recurring roleas a “documentarian with a particular interest in the case that Mabel, Charles and Oliver are working on,” per Variety.
In January 2023, the cast teased thatMeryl Streep will also be joining the castas Martin shared a photo with his formerIt’s Complicatedcostar on set.
Emily in Parisstar Ashley Park is also joining the cast in the new season. She previously toldE! Newsthatshe’ll be playing “a Broadway ingénue.”
What willOnly Murders in the Buildingseason 3 be about?
Like past seasons, the third season follows a new murder mystery. At the end of the season 3 premiere, Mabel, Charles and Oliver witness Ben’s dead body crash down in front of them as they take the elevator in the Arconia. In the second episode, the trio decides to make another podcast about Ben’s murder.

Gomez also shared her excitement about Streep joining the cast as she shared a video of everyone hanging out on set together with the caption, “I could cry 😭 season 3 is coming!”
In March 2023, Short, Martin and Gomez were spotted filming in N.Y.C., withthe latter wearing a bridal gown. Hulu perfectly reacted to the photos on Twitter,resharing a photo of Martin and Gomezwith the caption, “Only Fathers of the Bride in the Building?,” alluding to Martin and Short’s previous roles inFather of the Bride.
In April 2023, Gomez confirmed that filming had wrapped as she shareda photo of her and Streep on set. “Well we wrapped season 3 of @onlymurdershulu -I’m not sure I have enough words to explain just how beautiful this season has been,” she captioned the post. “It has been deliriously hilarious, challenging and for me, an absolute dream. I’ll post more soon. But I’ll I leave it with the woman I adore, look up to and love. 🥰”

The new season premiered on Aug. 8 dropping the first two episodes on Hulu. The remaining episodes will drop weekly with the season 3 finale airing on Oct. 3.
Will there be anOnly Murders in the Buildingseason 4?

A fourth season hasn’t been confirmed, but given the show’s success and fan base, it seems likely that there will be another season. Though Hoffman previously revealed that he doesn’t have a “five-season plan” like other showrunners,he is excited to keep the show goingas long as Hulu will allow him.
“I think there’s great variety [in terms of the stories that can be told],” he toldThe Hollywood Reporter. “I know there have been funny discussions about how many murders can there be in one building, but I think that’s a fun challenge.”
