“Wolfie has had two sets of parents trying to help him on both sides, and I just think, ‘The more, the merrier,’ " Huang said. “I feel lucky to have such positive people around him, who really embrace him — because it didn’t have to be so easy.”

“It’s all about your point of view,” she added. “I don’t understand people who are divorced and then hold their children as collateral; that doesn’t make any sense. It’s about creating a happy home and lifestyle.”

After Princess Beatrice and Edo announced their engagement in 2019, Huang shared her congratulations to the couple. “I wish the best for Edo and Beatrice and look forward to uniting our families,” she said in a statement.

Princess Beatrice, 35, became the first member of her generation of the British royal family to step into the role of a step-parent, and a source told PEOPLE in 2020 that she embraced the position from the start.

“Beatrice is awonderful and very hands-on stepmom,” the source said.
