There’s a gene running strong in the next generation on both sides ofKate Middleton’s family!

The Middleton siblings aren’t the only ones who have had firstborn sons, as it’s a common trend in the royal family as well.Queen ElizabethandPrince Philipbecame first-time parents when then-Prince Charleswas born in 1948, and the pattern continued with the next generation.

Of course, there have been some exceptions. Prince Andrew had no sons, while Prince Edward welcomed his daughter Lady Louise before his son James was born. Some of Prince William and Prince Harry’s other cousins — including Peter and Zara — also welcomed firstborn daughters. And while Princess Beatrice welcomed her daughter Sienna in 2021, she is also astepmother to Wolfie, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s son from a previous relationship.

On Friday, the proud dad posted the first photos of the newborn to his personalInstagrampage and revealed his name.

“No matter how prepared I thought I was…I was not prepared for the overwhelming emotion of meeting Inigo for the first time and the love for my darling Alizée as we became three,” he continued, revealing the child’s name.

“We have settled into our new life as parents and I’ve told him all about Ella and that if it wasn’t for her he wouldn’t be here today and that we miss her greatly. The dogs have been fantastic at welcoming their little brother into the pack (although Inka needs to know the teddybears are not all for her…) 🐾,” Princess Kate’s brother joked, referring to one of his pups.

“We would like to thank the wonderful team at Basingstoke hospital, from the very first scan to walking out the front door for the first time as three, we couldn’t have felt more supported and looked after throughout so thank you NHS 🙏,” he concluded, shouting out the care team.
