After appearing in a cameo in Justice League , Joe Manganiello has posted a depiction of himself in costume as Deathstroke , one of the deadliest assassin in the DC Universe . He ’s looking good , but the appearing of a second live - legal action Deathstroke raise an important doubt .

Now , just for comparing , here ’s his classical look .
In that very appealing Silver Age comics way , this pattern implies armor without actually flesh it out , letting this Deathstroke manage to seem both aerodynamic and militaristic . His outfit has a sight of color but still manages to be threatening , though I ’m right smart over the open eyes . It ’s like Spider - Man ’s lens fell out of his backpack on the way to trigonometry . All in all , it ’s pretty neat . I ’m going to give it a 4.5/5 on the It’d - Be - Freaking - Rad - To - Be - Murdered - By - This - Guy scale .
So how does this expect translate to live action ?
First , here ’s Joe , Flash Thompson in Sam Raimi ’s Spider - Man trilogy and later doer in moving picture like Magic Mike , Pee - wee ’s Big Holiday , and Magic Mike XXL . Rumors have abounded about Deathstroke ’s possible role in the DCEU for a while , and at one point Afleck ’s solo Batman script on the face of it include the villain . Now , he ’s here , armor and all .

He ’s look pretty good , too . The armor is both operative and visually sensational — in particular I care the bureau strap and the way it draw attention to his panoplied pecs . It ’s strappy , in classic “ realistic ” superhero costume manner , but not overly strappy . it all appears to have a sane function , and one could imagine him place it on without taking too much clock time out of his forenoon .
I ’m not entirely sell on the color schema , though . The special tad of orange used , combine with the overall designing of the body armor , is cave in me some serious flashbacks to Nite bird of night from Snyder ’s Watchmen movie . Also , weirdly , I find myself wishing his shoulder pads were even expectant ? His silhouette just is n’t quite striking enough . I could see this rendering of Deathstroke being a major antagonist , or I could see him being killed off by a isolated batarang in the first deed . His costume does n’t really give me an indicant . I ’m giving it a 3.5/5 on the It’d - Be - Freaking - Rad - To - Be - Murdered - By - This - Guy scale .
Okay , this is — well , it ’s something , all veracious . While the DCEU Deathstroke look like an earnest attempt to equilibrise cartoonish element with realistic ones , this guy looks like an Arena Football League linebacker who settle to rob banks with his collection of Nerf gun . Like , I ’m sure this fellow ’s severe and all , but the disgraceful padding and the badly - fitting straps ( badly , his tum does not look well-heeled here ) make this costume face like a first draft . It ’s just not very colorful , either , forcing its elements to blend together . It relies right smart too much on its orange straps to give the suit soma , which again highlights how cobbled together it looks .
I have to accommodate , though , I do like the mask . That shade of orange work , and it utterly toss off in line with all the Shirley Temple and blue . Still not enough to save the costume . I ’m giving this look a 2/5 .
