Coming off the hit plastic film Godzilla vs. Kong , managing director Adam Wingardis not letting his moment pass . First , he signalize up to make a sequel to John Woo ’s sci - fi action hitFace / Off . Then he let out he was go bad to try and make the classic 1980s cartoon Thundercatsinto a alive - legal action film . Oh , andpossibly another King Kong picture show too . Now , he ’s teaming up with Walking Dead Jehovah Robert Kirkman for yet another geeky projection .
Deadlinereports Wingard will direct Hardcore , based on an Image / Skybound comic by Kirkman and Marc Silvestri . It ’s about a programme that has the power totake over anyone ’s bodyand become them into an assassin , which wee the actual killer all but untraceable . That is , until someone hacks the organization and their best agent gets stuck in a person ’s body . The labor is set up at Universal Pictures and Wingard will co - write the handwriting , based on an outline by Kirkman , with emerging writer Will Simmons . That suggests the undertaking is in its very early days so there ’s no singing exactly when it might take place .
When news broke about theThundercatsadaptation , it seemed like Wingard would tackle that after Face / Off . But that was before the tidings of another Monsterverse movie . And now Hardcore too . We ’ve reach out to multiple sources to try and clear up if there ’s any idea of which projection will happen when , and will update this piece if we listen back . Either way , Wingard is doing a hell of a occupation line up dream geek projects coming off a huge success . We ’re excited to see whichever one is next .
