It ’s called “ Shared Worlds , ” and it ’s a two - week workshop on a South Carolina college campus where you meet with science fiction and illusion authors , who assist you create the populace of your dreams . Shared Worlds , an innovative two week shop in phantasy and science fable worldbuilding is presently seeking program for attendance from students course eight to twelve who have an interest in creative writing and fantasy worldbuilding .
The program is held from July 19 through August 1 on the campus of Wofford College in Spartanburg , SC , and offers an intensely creative atmosphere in which students take all aspect of progress their own fictitious human race through instruction in creative authorship , history , graphics , philosophy and physics and then apply that knowledge by creating fiction , games and more .
This year ’s teacher include adjunct music director and two time World Fantasy Award winning authorJeff VanderMeer , Weird Tales fiction editor Ann VanderMeer , role playing secret plan clothes designer Will Hindmarch , Spiderwick Chronicles Maker Holly Black and New York Times bestselling author Tobias Buckell , plus Wofford College ’s own Dr. Christine Dinkins , ism prof , and Jeremy Jones , lecturer and ingroup director .
