So it ’s my fault , for certain , but I just ordered the Panasonic SC - HT820V Home Theater System , got it all unpacked , frame-up , and mounted , and was pretty happy with it – the onscreen control are great , and it ’s overnice make everything pre - balanced and tuned in a exclusive , turn - fundamental scheme . There are definitely better option , but for $ 300 I thought I could just get it all done in one go . Then today I let on , after face at how I was expire to tie in the videogame system , that the SC - HT820V does n’t have optical audio input . It ’s my flaw for not properly reading the specs when shopping , but I honestly did n’t give it a second thought , take that the unit of measurement is on the high - end side ( of the low - end side ) and I was mainly concerned with its picture output signal . But I ’ve seen $ 100 house theatre systems with optical sound recording inputs – why would Panasonic cheap out on something that would be so useful to people who need to use the 5.1 speakers for something besides DVD ?
