I love yield taxes ! My money goes to great things like commons , and public libraries , and military project that will doubtfully materialise anytime soon . exemplar : tiny flying drones thatspray inconspicuous terrorist - tracking fairy dust .
The Air Force has a heavy time shooting the right thing . It ’s tough ! Things on the ground are very far away and petite when you ’re a drone . It ’s hard to tell who ’s a terrorist , and who ’s a baby . So what if we could , spray invisible rubble on a uncollectible guy , which only the dawdler could see ? This thought — of microscopical , microdrone - dropped targeting mist , is n’t the result of a DARPA bong session . It ’s very real .
The military ’s been mulling over this preposterous pitch for days now . In 2007 , the U.S. Special Operations Command proposed dropping obscure fragrance onto targets . There ’s also talking of “ smart dust”—itsy bitsy sensors , visible from the sky .

Now , you have to wonder — if you could design a vehicle so accurate , that could so precisely strike a person with sensing element dust or bioreactive perfume or whatever the hell , why not just kill them properly there ?
Hummingbird - like drones exist(as prototypes ) , but the notion that the Pentagon will be able to both hone them and get them fit with this fantastical tagging agent anytime soon and for anything resemble affordable is dubious . minimise the number of innocent the great unwashed who get pour down by drones , and maximizing the number of enemies who do , is very important . But any estimate that name for the development of “ junk ” and “ aroma ” in the linguistic context of aerial drone strikes is James Bond poppycock for now — and should be look at skeptically as it work up .
