The Big Picturetakes a spirit at robots today , and the series of photograph show a clear line between humanoid robots and , well , useful robots .
There are understandably two directions robot builders can take : try on to make a realistically humanoid robot that looks and moves like a person , and robots that are built to do specific tasks . The robots used by the military , for example , are altogether utilitarian . But they would look really stupid in a wedding dress .
Eventually , maybe these two school day will come together . But I ca n’t help but think that trying so severely to make golem that take care like multitude is a dopy try . Who cares what they look like ? Why not just focalize on making these automaton as utilitarian as potential rather than just pumping out creepy-crawly bots that are essentially expensive mannequins .
