Doctor Who ’s huge new degree output goes on tour October 8 . It ’ll star Nigel Planer , good known as the hippie Neil from The Young Ones , as the Greatest Showman in the Galaxy . Will his character turn up on the show ?
InDoctor Who Live , the Greatest Showman in the Galaxy , Vorgensen , travels around spill about his hero , the Doctor . Vorgensen has a gadget , the Minimiser , which allows him to muster up up some of the monster the Doctor has faced . Featured in the show will be the Daleks , plus Cybermen , Weeping Angels , Judoon , Silurian , Smilers , Winders , Scarecrows , Vampires , Clockwork Robots and Ood .
Matt Smith wo n’t appear in individual , but he ’ll be represented by specially filmed sequences which will be shown during the stagecoach show . Nick Briggs , who ’s voiced the Daleks on the show , will appear as various behemoth , but will also play Winston Churchill . And thanks to illusionists The Twins , audiences will get to see a Dalek fly . Mostly , though , I ’m just activated about the freshly expose Young Ones - Doctor Who crossover . ( For those who missed it , The Young Ones was a British sitcomabout a mathematical group of , you guessed it , immature ones divvy up an apartment , and Neil was the linchpin . )

In totally unrelated Doctor Who news , the BBC announced that at long last , the 1996 boob tube movie starring Paul McGann will be released on DVD in the U.S. , something that legal wrangling with Universal has preclude for years now . This is probably only good word for the tiny handful of us who want to rewatch Sylvester McCoy ’s last moments or the episode ’s fistful of other coolheaded bits .
