Before starring in the acclaimed Netflix seriesBeef— earning his first Emmy nomination — and showing off his charm inSZA’s new music video, Young Mazino was working behind the scenes at Fresh, a beauty company.
Although he’s no longer asenior business intelligence analystat the brand, the actor still keeps his skincare routine consistent.
“Everyone has to find their own personal process,” he tells PEOPLE exclusively while attending the LaQuan Smith Spring/Summer 2024 fashion show in New York City on Monday.
He adds: “I’m pretty basic, just a cleanser, moisturizer and, if I have it, a serum in between that. I think SPF is also really important.”
When asked about the stigma surrounding men’s skincare, he opens up about his inclusive perspective.
“I think maybe there’s a stigma that it’s quite a feminine thing to take care of your skin," he says. “Whatever that narrative might’ve been, I think it’s preposterous. I think everyone should aspire to have great skin because when you have good skin, you feel comfortable. There’s a large part of luxury skin care, in particular, that has to do with the sensorial experience of ritual. That’s a process that I’ve come to enjoy — to be like, this day has begun or this day has ended.”
Mazino says he also grew up with guy friends who used Dawn dish soap as a face wash if they didn’t have a proper cleanser. “So,” he continues, “the stigma that it’s only for women is crazy.”

“It was serendipitous because I became friends with the HR manager when I was putting together hiring packets as a temp, and he knew I was an actor,” he previously told PEOPLE.
“I took some business classes and I was working. I dabbled in supply chains. For me, it was more just a survival job that paid for everything — my rent, my drama school, my long-distance relationship.”
When it comes to his burgeoning career in Hollywood, Mazino shared he has another project in the works.
“I’m currently editing a documentary I shot,” he said, noting that he’s interested in working more behind the camera: “Film, as an art form, is just a means to find truth and to pursue it.”
