Hot damn , that was a tearjerking installment of Warehouse 13 — and generate the mad cliffhanger we end on , the persuasion that we almost did n’t get any more episodes after this is hard to fathom . Can you just suppose the show cease with that episode , never to be continue ?
Spoilers ahead …
The existent patch of last Nox ’s episode is pretty unproblematic — Paracelsus move to San Francisco and “ therapeutic ” a crowd of concluding patient so he can practice their life energy to make himself immortal using a peculiar petrified wood facing inside Coit Tower . Then he ’s conquer — butas usual , this is just part of his design . Meanwhile , the “ Myka ’s got genus Cancer ” plot line comes to a chief , and when she pass away in to see her Dr. , she winds up having operating theatre , and we check the cancer has spread already , beyond the surgeon ’s ability to remove . Pete is at long last look with the question of whether to use the Warehouse ’s artifacts to bring around Myka , and Paracelsus basically trick Pete into return Paracelsus absolute restraint over the Warehouse .

Why do so many villain get trance on purpose ?
Except that Claudia — who ’s just get out her long - presumed - dead babe is actually alive and “ an incredibly dangerous womanhood ” — takes stewardship of the Warehouse from Mrs. Frederic and stay behind to face Paracelsus , while everyone else flees .
There ’s nothing particularly ingenious about the plotting in this episode — the mo Paracelsus get himself capture , you know he ’s in all probability up to something eeeevil , because the episode is only half over — but what makes it work is that the plot twists are rooted in character .

Pete is terrified of fall behind Myka because of his abandonment issues ( which he references in one scene ) but also just because she ’s the only one whom he can share this life with . We see Pete pester Myka over and over about move to her Dr. ’s appointment , and the scene where she buy the farm off to get her surgery is incredibly sad and — amazingly enough — understate . A lot of the backbreaking lifting is done with facial facial expression , and the turn where Myka continue it buoyant until she flex her back on Pete is really well done . You probably did n’t recall Eddie McClintock , in finicky , could do bed — but he does layers here .
So the installment does a passel of reasonably deft work to set up Pete ’s incredibly stunned conclusion to start up dance to Paracelsus ’ melodic line — and miserable Pete in reality suppose he ’s outsmarting Paracelsus when he decides to take away Paracelsus ’ immortality , when in fact that ’s exactly what Paracelsus require him to adjudicate and do .
The motion of , “ Why should n’t Pete use the artifacts in the Warehouse to economize Myka ” seems incredibly relevant . Last hebdomad , we saw Artie using an artifact to get inside Roaring Dan ’s gravestone , purely for convenience . Pete ’s own mom wind up approve of Claudia using the metronome to resurrect Steve Jinks . The Warehouse utilize artifact all the time , and in fact the “ bronze ” process is dependent on an old Babylonian stele . It ’s get to the detail where if a Warehouse agent does n’t experience like waiting for the light to interchange on the superhighway , he or she uses an artefact to make the light turn fleeceable quicker .

So why not use an artifact to save Myka ?
Arguably , Pete ’s only mistake is that he trust Paracelsus alternatively of going to Artie and exact that Artie help oneself him figure out which dozen or so artefact in the Warehouse can cure cancer . But possibly there ’s still a telephone circuit that you ’re not supposed to hybridise , involving using artefact for selfish purposes , like store your ally . Or mayhap Pete ’s just never going to be smart enough to make it work , without a downside he ca n’t live with . ( candidly , this is when you call H.G. Wells , who believably calculate out a way to save Myka on her lunch breakout . )
The other self-aggrandising bombshell in this episode — which sort of total out of nowhere — is that Claudia ’s baby ( whose demise is the central part of Claudia ’s inception storey and why she could n’t let Steve die ) is alive and well and within easy distance of the Warehouse . And Artie has know this since before he encounter Claudia , but kept the truth from her to protect her . Is Claudia ’s “ grave ” baby somehow connect to Claudia ’s destiny to become the Warehouse ’s caretaker ? It ’s ill-defined , but this odd reveal mould kind of a phantasma on Claudia ’s big “ stair up and confront her destiny ” moment . Which you have to strike is designed , but I ’m go forth wondering where it ’s all going .

Oh , and as a counterpoint to Artie secernate Claudia the truth and Pete realizing the truth about Myka , we had Sutton trying to atone for not telling his son Nick the truth about Paracelsus — and I ’m sort of with Pete , in hop we ’ve go steady the last of those two , particularly Nick .
In any grammatical case , this was a pretty splendid season finis of Warehouse 13 all around — but it would have been a abominable serial publication stopping point .
