Amanda Stantonis clearing the air.
Before she got into the details of the breakup, Stanton said she wanted to address speculation about her relationship with her two daughters.
“My kids know no matter what, they’re always my number one priority. Always. I remind them that every single day,” she said of Kinsley and Charlie, her daughters from a previous relationship. “They never feel like I’m choosing a guy over them and that’s the silliest assumption about me that I’ve ever heard.”
“Me and my kids have such a special bond, they know nobody will ever come before them and in no way, shape or form when I get into a relationship do I feel like I want this person to be their dad,” she continued. “They have a dad, they visit their dad, they have so many people in their lives that love them. They are the happiest, sweetest, most loved kids in the entire world, so no one needs to worry about that.”
As for Jacobs, Stanton said she hadn’t addressed the split yet because she “obviously wasn’t ready.”
“It’s super fresh and aside from that, I was completely blindsided and it just happened very suddenly,” she said. “You guys know we just got a place together.”
“And it wasn’t like we were fighting — I think there’s a lot of speculation about our relationship because of events that happened in the past,” she continued, referencing a Sep. 10 incident in which she wasarrested on one count of battery domestic violenceafteran altercation with Jacobsin a Las Vegas hotel room. (The case wasdismissedin December.)
“You just read things in the tabloids and make assumptions about people’s relationships, but we had a great relationship,” Stanton insisted. “It wasn’t toxic, it was actually the healthiest relationship I’ve ever been in. He was my best friend. I was super happy. That was not fake.”
Stanton admitted that she was taken aback when Jacobs shared the split on social media.
“I really never got a chance to talk to him about how we were going to address this in public,” she said. “Obviously, he has never gone through a breakup that’s public before, and I know he had mentioned some stuff on Instagram, and that’s okay. I don’t think he meant to hurt me, but I wasn’t necessarily ready to talk about it.”
“At the end of the day, people should do what makes them happy,” she said. “People are allowed to change their minds and if you have doubts about somebody or you’re not feeling it, I respect the decision to break up with them and not lead them on. So I’m glad that he didn’t waste more of my time.”

She also dismissed any possibility of a reconciliation, saying: “I personally don’t believe in breaking up and getting back together. I just don’t think it works out. I think if you break up with someone, you break up for a reason.”
“That’s not something that’s going to happen but that’s okay and I’m okay. I am sad, I cried a lot, but I have a lot to be grateful for,” she said, adding that she and her daughters would be keeping the house.
“I’m actually happy,” continued the reality star, who is celebrating her 29th birthday on Tuesday. “I know it’s a weird thing to say but there’s something about when I go through a breakup — I don’t know what it is, maybe I surprise myself with how strong I am, or how I get through things, but for some reason when I go through a breakup I feel more confident than ever. I kind of feel like that right now.”
Jacobs, a pro beach volleyball player, confirmed he and Stanton had called it quits on his private Instagram account last week, adding that he would still be a part of her daughters’ lives “no matter what.”
