Update 5:21 PM : Hurricane Matthew hasofficially been upgradedto a Category 4 storm .
Update 8:25 phase modulation : Matthew is now totter on Category 5 position , according to the latest NWS advisory , which account the violent storm as “ extremely life-threatening ” with 150 miles per hour winds . Tropical storm warnings and watches are in effect for portions of Colombia , Venezuela , and Haiti . A hurricane ticker is in effect for Jamaica , with rain sum of 10 to 15 inches expected across the land .
